Good Stories Fund was founded on the belief that Muslim filmmakers deserve equitable access to the financial, social, and institutional resources needed to transform narratives about Muslim life.

Good Stories Fund supports Muslim filmmakers whose work expands how Muslim people, communities, and experiences are represented on screen.

Through funding, community, and access to industry networks, we aim to address the structural barriers that prevent these stories from being developed, produced, and seen. We believe Muslim filmmakers should have the resources and creative freedom to tell stories in all their complexity—not only stories that explain, defend, or reduce Muslim identity.

By investing directly in filmmakers and their work, Good Stories Fund seeks to help build a more equitable industry and a richer, more expansive cultural narrative around Muslims.

Good Stories Fund is a charitable initiative operating under the fiscal sponsorship of LOHAS, a 501(c)(3) public charity.

What We Look For

  • Feature Films, TV Series, and Social Media projects that bring Muslim stories to wide audiences across North America and globally

  • Honest, well-rounded narratives centered on Muslim characters, Islam, or the Muslim world

  • Strong producing teams with proven track records and meaningful traction – significant interest, established partners, and initial financing already in place

  • Projects at one of these stages: packaged with experienced teams, lab alumni (Sundance and similar), in production with budget gaps to close, in post-production needing finishing funds, or completed films seeking audience engagement and impact campaign support

We provide support through —

Charitable Grants

Non-recoupable funding for production, post-production, and the public-facing work around a film such as community and educational screenings, panels and Q&As, accessibility, and outreach.

Impact Investments

Recoupable funding, unrestricted in use. For projects that need capital they can deploy at their own discretion, including marketing and awards campaigns.

We do not support –

  • Short films or student projects

  • Early-stage script development or unpackaged ideas

  • Production or distribution services (we are a funder, not a production or distribution company)

  • Labs, festivals, or incubators
